Adoption Terms and Conditions

By adopting from Dog It Dig It Rescue, you agree to keep your new pet for its entire life (10-18 yrs ) through birth of a child, moving, death in the family, divorce, or job loss:
If for ANY reason you can no longer keep the pet you adopt from Dog It Dig It, you are REQUIRED to return the dog to Dog It Dig It Rescue. We happily accept all our dogs back into rescue.
Dog It Dig It Rescue Inc. reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason. Dog It Dig It Rescue’s goal is to find good homes for animals in their care, with the hope of a forever adoption. Sometimes the dog you are interested in just isn’t the correct fit for your particular family. We may suggest a different dog that would be a better fit for your specific circumstances.
The adoption fee is a donation to Dog It Dig It Rescue that supports the care of the animals in its rescue.
A licensed veterinarian must perform a routine checkup on your new pet within 7 days of adoption. Dog It Dig It Rescue does their very best to adopt out only healthy animals. We will provide information regarding any testing and results, along with the vaccinations and deworming administered. All information about your vet will be included in the contract you receive and sign at the time of adoption. If your vet finds evidence of disease in your pet within 7 days after signing the adoption contract and you do not wish to keep your pet, you may return the adopted pet for a refund of the adoption donation amount only. If the animal is under 3 ½ months old, you should not take your pup to public places until the series of puppy vaccinations is complete. Refunds will be issued by check within 14 days. You must provide a copy of the veterinary findings. Pets must be returned by the 7th calendar day after adoption for disease-related refunds. If the pup is deceased due to disease (as documented by your vet), it must be returned within 8 hours of death. Refunds do not apply to abuse, neglect, poisoning, or injury that the pet incurs after leaving Dog It Dig It Rescue. You may return the animal at any time, but there are no refunds if you develop allergies, decide it was not the right decision to adopt, or the pet does not work out. The pet must be returned to this rescue ONLY and not be given away, abandoned, sent to another rescue/shelter, or sold. Also, routine vaccinations, deworming, and testing are not grounds for a refund. These are a regular part of pet ownership. Your pet should receive monthly heartworm and flea prevention; consult your veterinarian regarding the best treatment options.
Dogs are spayed or neutered before leaving Dog It Dig It Rescue Inc. and going to their new home. If the dog is not spayed or neutered due to advanced age or health reasons, you will be required to maintain contact at least every 6 months to monitor the animal’s condition and determine whether surgery can be performed. If the dog is not altered due to being too young or too small, a deposit of $100 for females and $75 for males, in addition to the adoption fee, must be paid, and the animal must be spayed/neutered by 6 months of age. We rarely allow any animal to leave before being spayed or neutered.
Cash, credit cards, and PayPal are accepted forms of payment. You will receive a signed contract stating the donation amount, which you and a Dog It Dig It Representative will sign. Checks are accepted, but the new pet cannot go to the adopter’s home until the check has cleared (usually 7-10 days).
PLEASE RETURN THE ANIMAL TO RESCUE IF YOU CANNOT KEEP IT FOR ANY REASON – WHETHER A DAY OR 10 YEARS AFTER THE ADOPTION. We welcome all returns.
It is imperative that Dog It Dig It Rescue receive accurate information. Anyone caught lying on an application will be denied immediately and will not be permitted to adopt from Dog It Dig It Rescue.
